About FTP

An FTP program is a piece of free software that you install on your computer. This software will be the bridge between your computer and your hosting account.

When you purchase your hosting account for a specific domain, your hosting provider will supply you with what is called, 'ftp access.' This is nothing more than a specific web address or URL that you will enter into your FTP program along with an assigned username and password.

Once you have entered the information into your FTP program, you are ready to move files from your computer to your hosting account.
